What this role looks like
This is a freelance, project-based role working alongside our design team to bring brand work to life through motion.
You will take briefs, brand guidelines and design assets and produce animation that feels considered and on-brand. This includes social content, campaign assets, title sequences and brand vignettes. You will work closely with our designers to ensure motion decisions serve the communication, not just the visual.
This role is primarily remote. From time to time, we will ask you to join us in Brisbane to review work, align on direction or collaborate in person.
About you
You are an experienced motion designer who understands that animation is not decoration. It is pacing, emphasis and personality. When it is done well, it makes the message land harder.
You know After Effects instinctively, not just technically. You have a strong understanding of how brand systems translate into motion and how to work within them without flattening them. You choose the right frame rate, the right easing, the right hold, because you understand why it matters.
You are comfortable working from a design handoff and confident asking the right questions. You can receive detailed direction or work from a more open brief.
Agency or studio experience is a strong advantage. Managing shifting priorities, client feedback and multiple projects at once comes with the territory.
